◊ My research has focused on the causes of abusive (bullying) behaviors in children, with
a particular emphasis on cyberbullying, Internet Safety, and cyber-risk behaviors.
- I have also written two research-based and evidence-based curricula (K-5 Bullying
and Cyberbullying, and High School CyberSkills). These can also be found at MARC's website.
◊ What are the causes of bullying behaviors in children?
How can children be socially successful? How can adults help children achieve social success, both online and offline?
◊ Information about, and addressing, Cyberbullying - in practical and concrete terms. I specialize
in "translating" these behaviors into non-technical language for adults who may feel that their children are more
"computer-savvy" than they are.
◊ Understanding Social Networking Sites, and how to help children
navigate them sensibly
◊ Research bases of childhood violence and aggression ◊ Developmental Problems in Children which led to Violence and Aggression
◊ I
have trained teachers and spoken to parent and community groups in hundreds of communities in Massachusetts, New England,
and around the country. I am particularly focused on taking cutting-edge research and "translating" it into
everyday comprehensible language for adults. Click to see a sample/explanation of a faculty training (13 minute video) ◊ The
video below on the far left is from a professional conference - my talks to parent and community groups are significantly
different.
